Welcome to IELTS Corner. My name is Dr. Kara Abdolmaleki. I am a Canadian IELTS teacher with more than 20 years of experience in teaching ESL, academic writing, and IELTS preparation. I started this website to help my students achieve band score 7.0+ in IELTS Writing. Many of my students were frustrated by retaking the IELTS test, paying $300+ every time, and not getting their desired score in writing. If you have been frustrated by trying again and again to attain band score 7.0, especially in writing, know that you are not alone. There are many others like you, and I consider it my job to help you achieve your 7.0.

I am an experienced language instructor with more than 20 years of experience teaching at various levels, both in Iran and Canada. For the past five years I have been teaching academic writing at the University of Alberta and MacEwan University. I am currently teaching IELTS Preparation courses at Bredin Centre for Learning in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Most of my students are international medical graduates, nurses, teachers, and pharmacists, who have received their degrees from outside Canada and are trying to continue their practice in Canada.

I started this website because I noticed most of my students were struggling with IELTS Writing, and there were not a lot of high quality IELTS Writing essays on other websites. So, I decided to write weekly band score 9.0 essays as well as grammar courses for IELTS writing and add them to this website.

IELTSCorner.ca offers free sample essays, weekly writing webinars, and mini grammar lessons (coming soon). The free sample essays will show you what a band score 9.0 essay looks like. There are more premium essays for a low price. I am trying to keep it as cheap as possible.
